Our God is an Awesome God
Passage of the Week

” Psalm 37:7-9
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper—it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land.

Food for thought- Instead of throwing around blame for why things are not going well for you try making them better.

Patience may be a virtue, but it has a high price. God doesn’t always give us everything that we want. Sometimes God doesn’t give us anything that we want. You can pray, but what you want won’t ever seem to happen. In Psalm 37:7-9 God tells us “Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act.” This is much easier said then done. The verses go more in depth to tell us “Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.” This reminds me of a term we all know can kill. The word is jealousy. We see other people get what they want no matter what they had to do to get it. We get angry and think if they can do those things then why can’t I? God answers us “Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper—it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land.” Whether the “land” you seek is a job, a girlfriend, or your business to take off, you have to have faith in God. Hebrews 11:1 says faith is the substance of things hoped for, but the evidence of things not seen. This means that you can’t see or know everything that is going to happen, but have faith in God for he knows what is best for you. He made you. He knows why you are here. All the things you desire he is the one who can give them to you, but he knows the things that you need. Make your desires known to God and have patience for he knows you better then you think.

From my experience- When has patience played a role in my life…lets see…everyday haha

Everyone goes through times in there life when they seem like they are at the bottom. They loose their job, their money starts running low, and then they are stuck at home. That is where I believe that I am at. I am a self employed web designer. I have applied for jobs and I’m waiting to hear from them. In the mean time money is running tight. I don’t have a girlfriend and have no means of meeting anyone because the money is so tight. These are all thoughts that come to me. I think why, when I thought I had so much did it all have to go away. I had a girlfriend, a good job, and was out of the house to much. I didn’t appreciate any of it when I had it. I just wanted more and more. Like I say in many of the messages I write “God has a plan for everyone” He knew that I needed to learn how appreciate the things that I had, so he took them away to help me realize what I had. The next step is to have patience. God knows what I need and he will supply it when needed. I thought I was alone, but he sends people to help us in the darkest of times. I’m waiting because I know God has something in store for me and when it comes I will be ready. In the meantime I’ll wait.
